If there is one trend I seriously cannot get enough of, it’s gotta be athleisure wear. I immediately fell in love with this whole laid-back, chic + modern style of dressing and for obvious reasons. Who wouldn’t want to wear yoga pants and sneakers and still look cool? Give me comfort and style and I am so down.
Shoe Carnival provided me with product and compensation. The opinions I have shared about the products are my own.
You already know I live for a budget-friendly wardrobe so I knew I could find the perfect affordable athleisure staples at Shoe Carnival. I wanted to scoop up a few basic seasonal items that could easily carry me from spin class to an al fresco brunch and every casual thing in between. I mean, that is the beauty of athleisure-wear #amiright? The goal is to be comfortable, look cool and give that perfect laid-back vibe all while totally kicking butt at the gym. And with spring right around the corner, I can’t help but think that a good casual + look is exactly what I’ll need this season.
I started with a pair of Adidas NEO Advantage Striped Sneakers. These have always been on my wish list and they’re the perfect canvas to any affordable athleisure look. They scream “cool girl” and also give any look that tomboy on-trend vibe we’re all after these days. They’re not too stuffy as far as sneakers go and can also be paired with denim cutoffs or a cool t shirt dress for spring. I also picked up this black and grey Nike duffel to serve as the perfect carry-all. I love that I can throw my gym accessories, wallet, phone, water bottle and even my laptop and planner if I’m running to a coffee shop to get some work done before the gym.
The formula to achieving that easy affordable athleisure look is simple:
cool kicks + black leggings + oversized tee + edgy jacket + perfect tote + chic sunnies
I keep these staples in heavy rotation during the week and especially on the weekends and actually wore this exact look for a super busy Friday full of running errands, working at Corso Coffee, trying out Core Power and shooting some fun looks for the blog. I love that athleisure-wear gives you that put-together vibe without giving up comfort. So. Good.
